In Overboss Duel, players draft terrain tiles and monster tokens to construct an overworld with the highest Power score. The game introduces deep “take that” mechanics, allowing you to place tiles anywhere on the shared board?including your opponent’s side?to sabotage their plans or steal their most valuable positions. Use terrain powers like Icy Peaks, Sunken Cities, and Spawning Grounds to manipulate the board, or build Roads to create long, point-scoring chains. Manage your monstrous minions effectively, as grouping them together or placing them on matching terrain awards significant bonuses.
This edition also introduces a new threat: Heroes. These pesky adventurers spawn in Towns and will actively disrupt your overworld, reducing your score unless you find a way to squash them for extra points. Each Boss card features a unique “Reveal Ability” and a secret scoring objective, ensuring no two games are ever the same.
